Ellen Kathleen Hall Mount (Kay) Irvine, 95 passed away on December 27, 2020 in her home.
She was born on July 9, 1925 in Johnson County, Georgia, the third daughter of the lateVernon Lee and Cora (nee Caneega) Hall.
In 1947 she married Robert E. Mount and moved to Ashland, Ohio.
Ellen K, a graduate of Wrightsville Ga. High School, attended Dental School in Atlanta, also after coming to Ohio attended Kent State, Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo, and University of Akron.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a Dental Nurse in the office of Dr. Cord C. Meyer in Savannah, GA. In Ashland she was employed in the office of Dr. Pinky Warren Spreng Jr. and Dr.Stephen Frank in 1974. She was employed as a Diversified Health Occupation Teacher at the Ashland Co. West Holmes JVS.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Friendship Class, where she served many different Committees. She belonged to the Ashland County and National Retired Teachers Association. Past President of Delta Gamma Sorority, also served on the board of Directors of Hospice, served as Co-director of the Ashland County Special Kidney Fund. She and her husband Bob owned and operated a Dari Delite Store in New London for 7 years.
She married Dr. Jack Irvine in 2002. Together they continued her love for fishing and golfing.
She is survived by her husband and one daughter Nancy (Phil) Lynn Deppert, one son Aaron Wayne (Mary) Mount of San Antonio, TX, four grandsons; Joshua (Georgia) Anderson, Chase (Tiffany) Anderson, Travis (Bailey) Unger Mount, Bobby (Kaci) Mount, Great grandchildren; Destiny, Nevaeh, Cody, Mickenzie, Brady, Ava, and Molly Step son Tom (Shirley) Irvine, step daughters; Amy Elderbrock, Drs. Nancy (Craig) Selby, and five step grandchildren; Emily, Molly (Dave), Betsy, Andrew (Brooke)Elderbrock,and Melanie Irvine-Selby. One sister; Nancy Barlow, three nieces, three nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert (Bob), one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Denbow Gasche Funeral Home, with Reverend Michael Namy officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
For those unable to attend, the service will be available via Facebook Live, on the Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Online condolences may be shared on the funeral home’s website denbowfh.com.
