Ethel Anna (Way) Etzwiler, 97, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Kingston of Ashland.

Ethel was born in Ashland County, Ohio on September 3, 1923 to the late Elisha B. and Emma D. (Miller) Way. She was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1942. She moved to Mansfield for several years then to Stockton, California for 8 years but returned to Ashland in 1990.
She had been employed at Ashland Rubber Co. and later Thermo-Disc. While living in California she worked in Child Care for 8 years and retired form there. After moving back to Ashland, she did piece work at her home form Atlas Bolt Co. for a few years and re-retired from there.
Ethel was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and the Women’s Fellowship at the church where she would help with meals, sewing, funeral dinners and other projects for the church. She was a member of the Ashland County Senior Citizens and while living In California she was a member of the local Toastmasters Club there.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing quilts, and helping people.
Ethel is survived by two daughters, Louise (David) Reyner of Valley Springs, CA. and Elaine (Don Sr.) Rahman of Millbury, OH, two grandchildren, Liz and Jeremy; two great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren and one sister, Leora Ward of Mansfield; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Celia Coffman and a brother, Harry Way.
Funeral services will be held at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with the Pastor Steve Keib officiating. Burial will be in the Imhoff Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be live-streamed on the funeral home Facebook page.
There will also be a celebration of Ethel’s life held at the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren to be announced at a later date.

Ethels family would like to thank the Kingston of Ashland for the loving care given to Ethel during her stay there, and to Hospice of North Central Ohio for their care given to Ethel during her final days.
