David H. Brant, 62, of Ashland and formerly of Polk, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, September 5, 2020 at Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield.

David was born January 27, 1958 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Jack Howard and Ayres Jean (Snyder) Brant. They moved to Polk, Ohio later that year and he had been a resident of the area ever since. He was a graduate of Mapleton High School class of 1976.
He worked as a machinist and then drove truck for the Halada Milk Hauling Company contracted by Reiter Dairy and later Owens Corning Co.
Dave was a Lieutenant with the Polk-Jackson-Perry Fire Department. He was a member of the Ashland Eagles 2178 and had been a baseball coach with the Polk Youth League. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing golf and loved his 1957 Chevy.
He is survived by three children and one grandson, Jeremy Brant of Ashland and his son Collin Brant, Cameron (Alison) Brant of Willard and Brittany (T.C.) Burkett of Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Messner officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Polk-Jackson-Perry Fire Department, 209 E. Congress Street, Polk, Ohio 44866.
