Sharon Eileen Bigelow, 78 of Ashland passed away Sunday afternoon, August 30, 2020 in her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 31, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late William and Mildred (nee Hoffman) Forrest.
Following her high school graduation, she went on to earn an Associates Degree in Christian Education from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.
She married the love of her life, Donald E. Bigelow on July 27, 1963. Sharon retired from Huntington Bank.
She was a faithful follower of her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she served through singing in the choir, teaching children in Sunday School and assisting with vacation bible school. She, along with her husband, greatly enjoyed ministering to others through gospel music.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Don Bigelow of Ashland; one son, Brent (Alice) Bigelow of Cordova, Tennessee; two daughters, Gretchen Everett of Ashland and Heidi (Kevin) Kolb of St. Peter’s, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Andrew (Emily) Bigelow and Amber Bigelow, Mallory and Nataleigh Everett, and Emma, Ellie, Evie, and Ezekiel Kolb; one great grandchild; and one sister, Rhoda Rose of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia Christopher.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, September 4, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Kolb officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
