Charles Thomas Prosser, 80 of Ashland passed into God’s Hands early Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital after a long illness.
He was born on August 1, 1940 in Jackson, Ohio to the late James Lester and Mary Elizabeth (nee Roberts) Prosser, the second of five children.
Tom was raised in Loudonville and graduated from Loudonville High School, Class of 1958.
He proudly joined the United States Army in January of 1959 and served over three years before receiving an honorable discharge as a SP4. He served over 2 years in Schweinfurt, Germany.
Tom married the love of his life, the former Carol Ann Brown in 1972. They would have celebrated 46 years on September 8, 2020.
He retired from Peabody Barnes in Mansfield, Ohio and also was a driver for Bill Harris Automotive Group.
Tom was a member of the First Baptist Church in Loudonville, NRA, B.A.S.S., Amvets, a golf & bowling association, and the Eagles of Loudonville.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Prosser of Ashland; two children, James Bradley and Schelley Ann; two step children, Mark Alan Kerns of Craigsville, West Virginia and Kimberly Ann Modde of British Columbia, Canada; Papaw to four grandsons and 2 granddaughters; three sisters, Mary E. (Fred) Paisley, Rhea M. Prosser, and Sandra L. (Carl) Smith, all of Loudonville.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother, John E. Prosser.
An interment service will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in the Loudonville Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Frank Taylor officiating. Full military honors will be conducted.
