Bretta Conley was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on April 29, 2020, at age 77, from her home in Ashland, Ohio.

Bretta was born on October 5, 1942 in Williamsburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Crittie (Bennett) Mayne.

Bretta is preceded in death by siblings Lavada Beans, Howard Mayne and James Mayne.

Bretta was a very intelligent, patient, modest kind and loving lady. She will be dearly missed by her family.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Ted Conley. They were married April 14, 1967 and just celebrated 53 years of marriage. Also surviving are two brothers, William Mayne and Darrell (Rhonda) Mayne of KY; three sisters, Marcella Faulkner of TN; Martha Lawson and Donna Perkins of KY; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Bretta was also the beloved Aunt “Like a Mom” to Charlene (Tom) Fulk and the proud and loving grandmother to Andrew Fulk.

Bretta graduated from Cumberland College in Kentucky to pursue a career in education. She taught at Madison Park Schools in Trotwood, Ohio, Keystone Schools in Lorain County and spent 30 years teaching 3rd grade at Black River Sullivan Elementary.

She was a member of the Carpenter Baptist Church in Kentucky and the Ocala Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida. She loved the Lord. Bretta loved taking care of her family. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, watching birds and cleaning her house. She kept an immaculate home.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Dave Matos of Hospice of North Central Ohio officiating. Mrs Conley was my 3 grade teacher at Black River Sullivan Elementary. I never forgot her. She was always my favorite teacher. Back then my mom worked at Sullivan store. She would stop in there in the morning sometimes and I would ride to school with her. Those were the good old days. Miss you lots. But never forgotten. DOROTHY (Rook ). Silves
