Edward L. Wynn, 85 of Ashland passed away, Tuesday evening, December 3, 2019 in LifeCare Hospice in Wooster surrounded by his family.
He was born March 9, 1934 in Ashland, the son of the late Carl and Beulah (nee Anderson) Wynn.
Ed graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1953. That same year, he married the love of his life, the former Shirley Puster on September 26, 1953. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Ed retired after many years from the Hyco-Dana Corporation where he was a production supervisor and farmed part time.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved his horses and breeding canines along with his wife Shirley.
Ed is survived by one daughter, Vicki (Tim) Peters of Ashland; two sons, Richard A. (Lisa Bassin) Wynn of Mansfield and David E. Wynn of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Scott Fortney, Christy (Shane) Geer, Andy (Tammy) Fortney, Crystal Wynn, Ryan Wynn, all of Ashland, Ricky Wynn of Mansfield and Ashley (Josh) Barnes of Millersburg; numerous great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda Pettit of Ashland and Evelyn (Dave) Shopbell of Ashland.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years of marriage, Shirley I. Wynn who passed away on December 9, 2010; and one sister, Helen Cross.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. A meal and time of fellowship will follow in the Legacy Room of the funeral home. Interment will be after lunch, in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery where the Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct military honors. Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 in the funeral home from 6 to 9 pm.
