Phillip Alan Campo, 73 of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Ashland passed away September 18, 2019.
He was born on April 2, 1946 to the late Lupe Campo and Margaret (nee Corral) Moreno in Galion.
Phil graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1964. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He married the former Mary Lux on December 29, 2012.
Phil was an avid golfer throughout his life; having won many matches in high school and beyond. He also enjoyed fishing. Phil will be most notably remembered as being a fun loving social gentleman and a great cook who will be deeply missed by those who knew him best.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Mary Lux of Delray Beach, Florida; one daughter, Claire Elizabeth Brooks of Lexington; two grandchildren, Braden and Charlotte Brooks; one sister, Sue Elliott of Bailey Lakes; two brothers, David Campo of Loganville, Georgia and Jerry Campo of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Phil is preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Mike Campo.
A time of visitation will be held next Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 320 Church Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805. The Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, Maryland 21741-5014.
