Brad William Banghart, 63, “the Sax Man” of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Temecula, California passed away, Saturday, September 21, 2019 in his home following a period of declining health.
He was born on September 8, 1956 to the late Gerald Q. and Jane (nee Flaherty) Banghart in Ashland.
Brad was a 1974 graduate of Ashland High School. Following his graduation, Brad attended Berklee College in Boston to study his passion for music. He then went on to culinary school to pursue a passion of fine cuisine.
While living in California, Brad worked as a professional chef. His true passion was in his music. He was an accomplished musician throughout his entire life.
He enjoyed playing golf and watching western’s on television.
Brad is survived by one daughter, Brandi (Adam) Slusser of New Braunfels, Texas; one son, Matthew (Melissa) Banghart of Mesa, Arizona; one step daughter, Sirena Soto of Perris, California; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Sandra) Banghart of Rainier, Washington and Craig (Karin) Banghart of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Brad is preceded in death by his wife, Tina Banghart; and one sister, Barb Banghart.
A funeral service will be held, Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
