I was so sorry to learn of Bill's passing. We became friends during my late husband's time teaching at Ashland Univ. We moved to Clemson SC in 1976. Dorothy and Bill came to see us and we went to the Clemson-Notre Dame football game together. We always tried to see both of them when we came for our annual Ohio trip and more recently to see Bill. Our son Terry who lives in Strongsville visited Bill various times when he came to Ashland. Dorothy and I played tennis together numerous times.

Everyone has that one teacher who was a great influence on their life. For me that was Mr Mast. I was in his speech/debate class my sophomore year at AHS. I was shy and scared to get up in front of the class. His positive attitude, encouragement and belief in all of his students gave us belief in ourselves and permission to grow. As a senior, I worked as a student aide in his guidance office. Again his positivity, constant smile, wiiingness to listen and caring made an amazing impact. I graduated in ‘58 and never forgot him or the life’s lessons he shared. Some 50 years later when I returned to Ashland for a class reunion and made a point to meet him for breakfast. He was still amazing! I was blessed to have him in my life.
