Leonard F. Conery, 89 of Ashland went to his eternal home in heaven with Jesus, Monday, July 15, 2019.
He was born February 9, 1930 in San Jose, California to the late Leonard and Freda (nee Holthouse) Ramonda.
Following his high school graduation, Leonard proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married the former Wilma Allyn Jeffreys in September of 1977. Leonard was employed as an industrial electrician for Mansfield Tire and later Hydromatic Pump Company. While he lived in Louisiana, Florida, he founded his own company, Sonitrol installing security systems.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working as a carpenter. He was a member of the Mansfield First Assembly of God. At an early age, Leonard knew the value of hard work, a trait he passed on to his children to be responsible for themselves and their families.
He is survived by is wife of 41 years, Mrs. Wilma Allyn Conery of Ashland; two daughters, Linda Brinker of Ashland and Tami Norris of Ashland; one son, Scott (Annette Hruby) Conery of Naples, Florida; 13 grandchildren, Christina and Ben Brinker, Amanda Elliott, James (Rochelle Pryor) Brinker, Sarah and Amy Henthorn, Seth (Sarah) McArdle, Monica (Ed) Rhoden, Doug (Amanda) Myers, Debbie (Andrew Fain) Shopbell, Christopher Myers, Ryan (Amanda) Myers, and Anthony Norris; 22 great grandchildren; and two siblings.
In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his adopted father, Jim Conery; one daughter, Lori Henthorn; one grandson, Joel Myers; a son-in-law, Jeff Norris; and one brother, Bill Conery.
An interment service will be on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in the Ashland Cemetery with Pastor Mark Lehman officiating. The Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44903.
