Gladys M. Naugle, 90, of Ashland, passed away Monday afternoon, June 3, 2019 at Kingston of Ashland.

She was born June 4, 1928 in Rockingham, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of George Frearson and Mollie (Lehman) Wain. She was a graduate of Hooversville High School in Hooversville, PA.
Gladys worked as a cook for the Richland County Home from 1964 to 1969. In 1969 she became a cook for the Mapleton School District working for the next 20 years retiring in 1989. She also served as the Organist for the Peace Lutheran Church in Ashland for 16 years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included, doing puzzles, crocheting, reading, traveling, gardening, canning and feeding and watching the birds.
On April 10, 1948 she was married to Joseph E. Naugle and the couple enjoyed 70 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 14, 2018.
She is survived by three children, Barry (Linda) Naugle of Mansfield: Dan Naugle of Ashland; Kathy (Darryl) Walker of St. Clairsville, OH; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph E. Naugle in 2018, a son Richard Naugle in 1991, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Beal officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
