Linda Porter just celebrated her 75th birthday in April. She was the daughter of Walter and Hazel Plank.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully Wednesday May 22nd at home after battling a lengthy illness.
Linda was a resident of the Ashland area all her life. She graduated from Savannah High School with the class of 1962, (the last graduating class from Savannah High School) and Linda and her classmates were honored participants in the Savannah Bi-Centennial Parade.
Linda married the love of her life, William Porter, September 1, 1972. He survives her today.
Also surviving is her daughter, Loretta (Rich) Carr of Perrysville; son, Wesley (Leslie) Porter of Shelby; six grandchildren, Bryan, Macy, Jasmine, Jocelyn, Bilal, & Keiyan; a great-granddaughter, Kaleiyah; sisters-in-law, Thelma Adkins, donna (Terry) Lemming and Mable (Jim) Knowlton and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Hazel Plank, her father & mother in-law, Frank & Mandy Porter and brothers and sisters-in-law, James Porter, Loretta Ward, Herb Porter, Alice Shreve and Thermolene Wyatt.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashland County Memorial Park. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center St. Ashland, to help defray the funeral expenses.
