Dale Piatt, 59 of Ashland passed away, Saturday, May 11, 2019 in University Hospital Parma Medical Center.
He was born on September 28, 1959 in New London, Ohio to the late Franklin Leo and Sylvia Aretta (nee Akers) Piatt.
Dale graduated from Ashland High School, class of 1977.
He was the owner of Clark Avenue Laundromat and co-owner of Mohican Valley Sawmill. Dale also worked as a maintenance supervisor at Johnson Brothers for many years.
Dale was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Gold Prospectors Association, and the Third Wheel Trikers. He attended Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Dale married the former Kathy Callahan on October 1, 1994.
Throughout his life, Dale enjoyed wood carving, painting and sketching with his daughter, gold prospecting, renovating rentals with his son, collecting stamps and coins, and hunting morels mushrooms and renovating rentals with his son. He loved his garden and picking cherry tomatoes for his granddaughter Amiya. Dale will be best remembered for spending time with his family and friends and always making everyone laugh around him.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years this October, Kathy Piatt; one daughter, Sylvia Rose (David Haven) Piatt; one son, Robby (Brittney) Piatt; a granddaughter who was the joy of his life, Amiya; one expected grandson in September; two brothers, Daniel (Rhonda) Mulkey and David (Diane) Mulkey; one sister, Charlotte (Don) Martin; a brother-in-law and close friend, Larry Martin; and a step mother, Dardnel Kochheiser.
In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his step-father, Howard Kochheiser; and one sister, Sharon Martin.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
